Sniper Rifles have been notoriously underpowered in Warzone 2, as the devs have removed their ability to one-shot enemies even with a headshot. However, there is a simple trick to make Warzone 2 Sniper Rifles a one-shot kill once again.

Warzone 2 has dozens of weapons to choose from, all of which excel in various different situations, from versatile Assault Rifles to close-range SMGs. But the community has been growing frustrated with the state of Sniper Rifles in the sequel, as they can no longer down an enemy with a single headshot.

The devs have revealed that one-shot Sniper Rifles will appear in Warzone 2 later down the line, but this will only be in an LTM. Luckily, experts like JGOD and IceManIsaac have discovered an easy method to create one-shot Snipers in Warzone 2 Season 2.

How to make Sniper Rifles one-shot in Warzone 2

In order to gain the ability to one-shot enemies with a Sniper Rifle in Warzone 2, you’ll need to equip the Incendiary Rounds ammo type.

As explained by JGOD, all Sniper Rifles are capped at 249 damage with regular ammo, but the burning effect applied by Incendiary Rounds will finish off the rest of the player’s health after the initial headshot breaks their plates.

However, it’s worth keeping in mind that the one-shot effect only works on the most powerful Snipers in the game, such as the Victus XMR and MCPR-300, and does come with a serious downgrade to their damage range and bullet velocity.

For the most part, their one-hit-down potential will be limited to around 50 meters, but they can still dish out plenty of damage at longer distances.

Check out the two best one-shot Sniper Rifle loadouts in Warzone 2 below, as described by JGOD.

MCPR-300 one-shot loadout in Warzone 2

  • Barrel: 22″ OMX-456
  • Muzzle: Nilsound 90
  • Optic: VLK 4.0 Optic
  • Ammunition: .300 Mag Incendiary

JGOD’s MCPR loadout is all about buffing some of the areas that are hurt by equipping the .300 Mag Incendiary rounds. This is done through the 22″ OMX-456 barrel and Nilsound 90 muzzle, both of which come with major bullet velocity and damage range increases.

He also explained that players could switch to the VLK 4.0 Optic, to make the MCPR easier to use at close to mid-range when the one-shot capability really comes into its own.

Victus XMR one-shot loadout in Warzone 2

  • Muzzle: Bruen Counter Ops
  • Barrel: Mack 8 33.5 Super
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Ammunition: .50 Cal Incendiary

Once again, this build is all about making up the lost range and velocity caused by the .50 Cal Incendiary rounds, by equipping the Bruen Counter Ops muzzle and Mack 8 33.5 Super barrel.

Then JGOD recommended running the VLK LZR 7MW to improve the ADS speed, especially since you’ll mostly be using the one-shot Sniper at mid-range going forward.

There you have it! While this trick doesn’t quite bring back the glory days of the original Warzone, it does make Sniper Rifles far more deadly in the sequel. It isn’t clear just yet if this is a design choice or a bug, so we recommended giving it a try before a patch is released.
