Fortnite Chapter 3 has added a brand new Shield Keg item that grants you and your teammates shields, and here are all of their locations on the map.

There are plenty of cool new additions in Fortnite Chapter 3, including Spider-Man’s Web Shooters and a sliding mechanic. Now, Epic Games have brought a brand-new healing option to the battle royale.

The 19.01 hotfix on January 4 added Shield Kegs (or Shield Sprinklers) to the Fortnite island. These can be placed on the ground to sprinkle shields over you and your teammates, keeping you safe.

Here’s how you can find them on the map.

Lt. John Llama in Fortnite

You can get a Shield Keg in Fortnite by speaking to The Scientist or Lt. John Llama. Both of these NPCs will sell you the item for 250 Gold Bars. If you haven’t saved up, check out our guide on how to get Gold Bars.

The Scientist can be found at the north end of The Sanctuary, while Lt. John Llama is located south-east of Logjam Lumberyard. Alternatively, you can also find Shield Kegs in Chests and Supply Drops on the map.

These can restore up to 100 Shield to you, and your teammates can also take advantage of this by standing close to the Shield Sprinkler. You can throw it down and have your Shields constantly replenished while firing at enemies.

These benefits make the Shield Keg the best shield-restoring item currently in Fortnite. Being able to repeatedly replenish your shields while taking enemy fire is greatly beneficial in any situation.

However, this works both ways as your enemies can also start regenerating their own shields by getting close enough to the sprinkler. This is why you need to keep your distance when putting it down.
