Star Wars Jedi: Survivor allows players to customize Cal’s lightsaber in several classic colors, and here’s how to get a red lightsaber blade to channel the dark side of the Force in your playthrough.

Cal Kestis returns in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor which offers more customization than ever before. With Cal leaving the poncho behind, players are free to customize his clothes, hair, and of course, weapons, as they see fit.

There will be a number of different lightsaber colors to choose from including classics such as blue and green but unlike Fallen Order, Cal can equip a red lightsaber. Here’s how to unlock and equip a red lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

How to unlock red lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

The red lightsaber can be unlocked in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor by completing the game and starting a New Game Plus run.

After the credits have rolled (including a post-credits scene), you’ll be met with a screen informing you that New Journey+ is available, and it comes with new Perks and lightsaber blades to equip in your second run. Alongside the Party Lightsaber blade that changes colors, you can equip a dark side user’s famous red blade.

New Game Plus lets players equip a red lightsaber.

How to equip red lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

To equip the red lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you’ll need to start a New Game Plus playthrough and reach the Mantis where you can access the workbench.

Reaching the Mantis for the first time will unlock the workbench, where you’re free to embrace Cal’s darker side by equipping a red lightsaber blade.

As the red lightsaber is traditionally only used by dark-side users, it makes sense for it to be left for New Game Plus.
