Alongside the Chapter 3, Season 2 20.20 update, Fortnite players received a brand-new weapon to test out. Here’s everything you need to know about the Ranger Shotgun including how to get it.

Fortnite players can get their hands on a new weapon in Chapter 3 Season 2, as the 20.20 update brought along the Ranger Shotgun. The weapon’s decent range sets it apart from previous Shotguns and you’ll definitely want to give it a go following the update.

The Ranger Shotgun cannot be found in competitive playlists but if you’re looking to test out the new weapon in other playlists we’ve got everything you need to know about it, including where to find it.

The Fortnite 20.20 patch notes state that the Ranger Shotgun is “built for much longer range than most Shotguns.” This interesting change will alter how players approach the use of Shotguns in Fortnite.

Traditionally, Shotguns are close-range weapons but with the Ranger Shotgun in hand, you can implement new strategies to take down enemies. This versatile new burst weapon only has one shot per reload. Epic explain this seemingly strange choice, “each shot deals serious damage, you won’t need to panic while reloading.”

Fortnite’s new Ranger Shotgun can be found all around the island. Thankfully, there are no specific conditions to meet in order to get your hands on the new weapon. Players will find the unique Shotgun in several places including vendors, sharks, chests, ground loot, and supply drops.

Although the Ranger Shotgun has only been around for a short period, it’s already making waves as an extremely powerful weapon.

The weapon is certainly not lacking in the power department as the Common version deals 117 damage. Meanwhile, the Legendary version deals a whopping 142 damage to players.

If you didn’t get a chance to test it yet, keep an eye out for the weapon and give it a shot to discover just how powerful it is.
