Pokemon Go surprised players with a last-minute addition and now trainers are wondering how to get Hawlucha in the game, so here’s everything you need to know, including chances of catching a shiny one.

The new season of Pokemon Go, Rising Heroes, is centered around team cooperation and heroism, so it’s the perfect fit to finally add Hawlucha to the mobile game. The Wrestling Pokemon was one of the few creatures from the Kalos region that hadn’t made it into the game yet.

Catching Hawlucha, however, won’t be an easy task for most trainers, so here’s everything you need to know about Pokemon Go’s latest addition.

How to get Hawlucha in Pokemon Go

Dual Flying and Fighting-type Pokemon Hawlucha is a region-exclusive Pokemon that can only be found in Mexico. This means only players living in the area can encounter and catch it starting March 1, 2023.

For Pokemon Go players in other regions, the only way to catch Hawlucha is to travel to Mexico or trade it with a friend that caught it there. Some regional exclusives can be found worldwide during special events, so keep an eye out for future event dates.

Can Hawlucha be shiny in Pokemon Go?

Since it’s a very new addition to the game, players can’t find shiny Hawlucha in Pokemon Go yet. It usually takes a while for Niantic to add shinies of recently added Pokemon and it’s often tied to a special in-game event.

That could mean the next big Pokemon Go event will not only give players the chance to catch Hawlucha all over the world but also catch a shiny one for their collection.
