How to fix Modern Warfare 2 Scan & Repair problems on PC
Modern Warfare 2 players are experiencing an infinite Scan & Repair loop that is leaving them unable to play the game, and our quick guide might be able to assist you.
Any launch of an online multiplayer game is likely to have one or two teething issues that can impede the ability to play the game, and Modern Warfare 2 users are experiencing this thanks to Scan & Repair problems on PC.
The Scan & Repair process is a method that allows the hardware to do a self-evaluation of itself and look for errors that could be harming and preventing the system from working efficiently, or at all.
While this is a handy method of solving internal issues, Call of Duty players are being forced into a perpetual loop of Scan & Repair tests for Modern Warfare 2 on PC.
Modern Warfare 2 Scan & Repair problems on PC fix
According to Twitter account Paradox Customs, a specialist in PC, PC Parts, and PC Optimization, they found that going into the game’s settings and turning off Parallax Effects could be the way forward.
The user laid out the details in full and the instructions are quite straightforward to follow:
- Boot up Modern Warfare 2.
- Head to the game’s main ‘Settings’.
- Select ‘Interface’.
- Now go to where it says ‘Parallax Effects’ and switch it to ‘OFF’.
- You should, hopefully, not experience the Scan & Repair issues on PC anymore.
We should note that Paradox Customs prefixed their method by saying: “This isn’t 100% effective, but it’s been working for us thus far!”
So it isn’t a guarantee by any means that it will work for you, but it is a possible solution for the time being until something more permanent is discovered.
As always, if in doubt, you can always try uninstalling and reinstalling the game too to see if a reboot magically fixes the issue too.
