Eevee remains one of the most popular Pokemon out there and Pokemon Go players can get all its evolutions by catching plenty of the Evolution Pokemon. Getting a particular Eeveelution can be a hassle since some of them have very specific requirements.

In this article, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Eevee evolutions, including how to get them all and the name tricks for each one in Pokemon Go.

How to evolve Eevee in Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go players need to catch an Eevee and spend 25 Candy to evolve it. Since the mobile game’s launch, Eevee has starred in many different events to give players the chance to stock up on Candy and get all eight evolutions.

While the Candy requirement is low, getting the exact Eeveelution you want involves a few extra steps.

If you want to get a specific Eevee evolution in Pokemon Go, you can rename your Eevee with one of these nicknames:

  • Pyro – Flareon
  • Rainer – Vaporeon
  • Sparky – Jolteon
  • Sakura – Espeon
  • Tamao – Umbreon
  • Linnea – Leafeon
  • Rea – Glaceon
  • Kira – Sylveon

This is the easiest way to evolve Eevee into whatever evolution you want, but you can only use this trick once per Eeveelution. Make sure to pick and evolve a strong Eevee with good stats every time you use this name trick.

To rename your Eevee, tap the pencil icon right next to its name and check the silhouette next to the evolve button to make sure you got everything right.

How to evolve Eevee into Flareon, Jolteon, & Vaporeon in Pokemon Go

Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon are the easiest Eevee evolutions to get in Pokemon Go, but there’s a catch. All you need to do is gather 25 Candy and press the Evolve button to get one of the three at random.

Unfortunately, you can’t choose which one it will be and the only way to get one for sure is with the name trick, so good luck!

How to evolve Eevee into Umbreon and Espeon in Pokemon Go

The rest of the Eevee evolutions have specific requirements in Pokemon Go. Here’s how to evolve Eevee into Espeon or Umbreon:

  • Espeon: Make Eevee your Buddy and walk 10 Km with them. Once you do that, evolve Eevee during the day to get Psychic-type Espeon.
  • Umbreon: Make Eevee your Buddy and walk 10 Km with them. Once you do that, evolve Eevee during the night to get Dark-type Umbreon. You’ll know it’s nighttime when the map and the sky get dark in the game.

How to evolve Eevee into Leafeon and Glaceon in Pokemon Go

If you want to evolve Eevee into Leafeon or Glaceon in Pokemon Go, you’ll need to buy specific Lure Modules in the in-game shop and follow these instructions:

  • Leafeon: Place a Mossy Lure Module on a PokeStop and tap the evolve button while you’re in range.
  • Glaceon: Place a Glacial Lure Module on a PokeStop and tap the evolve button while you’re in range.

Lure Modules cost 180 PokeCoins in the store but can also be part of some Research rewards.

How to evolve Eevee into Sylveon in Pokemon Go

Finally, to get the last Eeveelution you’ll need to make Eevee your buddy once again in Pokemon Go. Unlike Espeon and Umbreon’s evolutions, you don’t need to walk any distance to get this evolution. Instead, you’ll need to earn 70 Hearts.

There are many different ways to earn Hearts, like feeding your Pokemon treats, playing together, battling together, or taking snapshots of them. There’s a limit of Hearts you can earn in a day so this quest will probably take some time.
