Apex Legends Dive Trail is a fun visual cosmetic that players will be able to equip as they’re skydiving into the game. Since they’re no longer featured as a Ranked reward, here’s how to get and equip Dive Trails in Apex Legends Season 18.

Season 18 brought a ton of changes to Apex Legends that players are exploring, such as a revamped Revenantweapon adjustments, as well as Ranked mode alterations. One of the changes to Ranked mode is the removal of Dive Trails as a reward.

Dive Trails are a visual cosmetic that applies an effect on the player’s trail when entering the map. Although not all players have them, those that do may be having some difficulty finding them in the menus.

For those looking to equip their Dive Trail in Apex Legends, here’s our guide on how to get and use them.

How to get Apex Legends Dive Trails

Apex Legends players can get a Dive Trail by acquiring a Prestige Skin with a Dive Trail in a Collection Event or the Mythic store in-game. It’s important to note that the Dive Trail you get with a Prestige skin is usable on any Legend you choose, all you need to do is equip it.

Previously, players who achieved Diamond rank or above in the Ranked Leagues would be rewarded with a Dive Trail. However, starting from Apex Legends Season 18, Dive Trails are no longer included in the Ranked rewards.

Dive Trails will add some flair to your drop in Apex Legends.

This was because Respawn felt there was an “unintended effect where the presence of a Ranked Dive trails during the drop would unduly influence where players wanted to land – either strongly avoiding or actively pursuing players with the trail.”

So, from Season 18, players who achieve Diamond, Masters, or Apex Predator are rewarded with an Epic Banner Frame as opposed to a Dive Trail.

How to equip Dive Trails

In order to equip a Dive Trail, you must visit the Loadout tab on the lobby screen and then open up Game Customization. From there, you’ll be able to equip your preferred Dive Trail.

Simply follow these steps:

  1. Head to the “Loadout” tab when on the lobby screen of Apex Legends.
  2. From there, you’ll see an option at the bottom of the screen called “Game Customization,” which takes you to another page with various options.
  3. On the Game Customization page, you can select Load Screens, Music Packs, and Skydive Trails. Simply flick to the Skydive Trail page and equip the trail you wish to use.
  4. Press Equip.

Make sure you press the “Equip” button, not the “Select,” as pressing the latter will only show a preview of the trail. Once equipped, you will notice the trail every time you skydive in-game, no matter what Legend you select.

All Apex Legends Dive Trails

In Season 18 there is only one Dive Trail aside from the default; Valkyrie’s Prestige Skin. This was given as a reward to players that collected all 24 cosmetic skins in the Neon Network Collection Event.

Further, future Prestige Skins will come with Dive Trails so we’ll keep you updated as and when more Apex Legends Dive Trails are available.
