Warzone 2’s crossplay support allows friends on different platforms to squad up, but can it be turned off if you don’t want to contend with mouse and keyboard players? Here’s how to disable crossplay in Warzone 2.

Like many modern games, Warzone 2 has a crossplay feature that allows players who are separated by platform to tackle Al Mazrah together. This means that PC players can team up with their friends on PlayStation or Xbox and hunt down the win together.

However, the well-documented advantages that come with playing Warzone 2 on mouse and keyboard, as well as SBMM mean that some PlayStation or Xbox players may prefer to stick to console-only lobbies.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to disable crossplay in Warzone 2.

How to turn off crossplay in Warzone 2 on PlayStation

The good news is that PlayStation players can disable Warzone 2 crossplay through the in-game settings, while Xbox users can do the same via their console settings.

Those experiencing Warzone 2 on PC, however, don’t have the option to switch off crossplay. So, PC players are forced to remain in mixed lobbies alongside controller users for the time being.

Here’s a breakdown of how to disable crossplay in Warzone 2 on PS4 and PS5:

  1. Head into the Warzone 2 menus.
  2. Press the ‘Options’ button on your controller.
  3. Use R1 to scroll over to ‘Settings.’
  4. Go down until you spot ‘Artwork and Network,’ and select it.
  5. Find the option for crossplay and turn it off.

How to turn off crossplay in Warzone 2 on Xbox

Xbox players don’t have the option of turning off crossplay from inside the Warzone 2 app, but they can still get rid of the feature if they’re desperate to play against fellow controller users.

The process is a bit more long-winded, but here’s an easy step-by-step guide:

  1. Go to the Xbox homepage.
  2. Head over to ‘General Settings’ and select ‘Online safety and family.’
  3. Click on ‘Privacy and online safety.’
  4. Select ‘Xbox Privacy’ followed by ‘View Details and Customize.’
  5. Then, head into ‘Communication and Multiplayer.’
  6. Select ‘Cross-network play.’
  7. Finally, click ‘Block’ to disable crossplay.

It’s worth keeping in mind that, in the case of Xbox players, this disables crossplay on your console rather than just Warzone 2. This means that cross-platform lobbies will be unavailable on games that use the feature, such as Apex Legends or FIFA.

If you change your mind down the line or have a friend on PC that you want to join on Warzone 2, don’t worry. Crossplay can be turned back on at any time by repeating the above steps and reenabling the feature at the end.
