How to damage Oathbound Chests to retrieve hard drives in Fortnite

One of the Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1 Oathbound Quests requires you to damage Oathbound Chests to retrieve hard drives, so here’s how to quickly get this done.

If you’re looking to earn bonus XP and level up fast in Fortnite then you’ll find a variety of different Quests to complete in the battle royale title, including Chapter 4, Season 1’s Oathbound Quests.

These give you different tasks to complete, and one of the new Oathbound Quests tasks you with damaging Oathbound Chests in order to retrieve hard drives. Here’s how to complete this Oathbound Quest.

How to damage Oathbound Chests in Fortnite

Oathbound Chests are located at different parts of the Fortnite map. We recommend landing at the Citadel, as it has multiple Chests close to each other. From there, you simply need to hit the Oathbound Chest with your pickaxe until a hard drive emerges.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Jump off the Battle Bus.
2. Land at one of the Oathbound Chest locations on the map.
3. Find an Oathbound Chest.
4. Strike it with your pickaxe until a hard drive comes out.
5. Collect the hard drive.

The hard drives resemble rectangular computer components with a gold disc in the middle. You’ll need to collect three different hard drives in order to complete this Fortnite Oathbound Quest.

Just keep damaging Oathbound Chests until they give up hard drives. Once you’ve acquired all three, this Chapter 4, Season 1 Oathbound Quest will be marked as complete, and you’ll be awarded 20,000 XP for your efforts.

However, there’s a good chance that you’ll run into enemy players who are also looking to complete this Oathbound Quest. For that reason, we recommend collecting powerful weapons and gear before hand.
