Black Ops Cold War’s Nuketown ’84 remake has continued the tradition of including a cool Easter Egg to find, and here’s how you can do it yourself in Call of Duty.

The classic Nuketown map has been included in every iteration of CoD: Black Ops since its inception in 2010. With every new game, the map is changed to suit the style and time-period. Black Ops Cold War’s Nuketown ’84 is 1980’s themed with retro graffiti and arcade machines.

The cool thing with the newest version is that not only does it retain the classic RC-XD Easter Egg, but it also welcomes back the fabled mannequin Easter Egg too.

In previous versions of Nuketown in the CoD: Black Ops games, if you shot all of the mannequins fast enough, Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones would play through the in-game speakers. A bit scarier, Black Ops 3’s mannequin Easter Egg had the dummies come alive and attack you.

Nuketown ’84 has its own mannequin challenge with an entirely unique result.

Nuketown ’84 Easter Egg in Cold War

Call of Duty has a habit of including silly Easter Eggs into their games – which they’re making easier – with the Die Maschine and Firebase Z game modes both having respective Easter Eggs to hunt down.

But completing this Easter Egg shouldn’t be quite as strenuous or stressful as all you need to do is shoot the heads off of all the map’s mannequins within a minute or so. There isn’t a set order to follow, so simply find the best route for you, or follow the order in the video below.

We understand this might be tricky to complete in a highly-competitive game of Nuketown with real players. However, the resulting effect is quite cool and will make your game look awesome whichever route you decide on.

So here are some ways to go about doing it:

  1. Firstly, load up Black Ops Cold War
  2. Decide if you want to experience it during a proper game, or basically see it in your own time
  3. For a proper game, equip an SMG and lightweight gear to ensure you get around the map quick enough
  4. For a casual game, load up a custom game
  5. Now, all you need to do is run around frantically shooting the heads off of all the dummies
  6. It would be a good idea to set a timer going on your phone or watch next to you so you know how long you’re taking
  7. Once you’ve decapitated all of the dummies, you’ll know as you will appear to be trapped inside a 1980s arcade game
  8. This will cause a purple and blue digital filter to be applied to the screen, reminiscent of classic Macintosh games from the 1980s
  9. To further complete the retro video game vibe, a synth-wave song will also play

If you’d like to have a better idea of how to do this and what it will look like, then check out the Easter Egg demonstration below.

As to be expected, the Easter Egg is neat and really feels like something worth going out of your way to do.

Make sure to learn how the Nuketown map has changed throughout the years too.
