How to collect compromised intel from IO Outposts in Fortnite
One of the Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 Covert Ops Quests tasks you with collecting compromised intel from IO Outposts, and here’s where to find the intel and complete the Quest.
Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 features plenty of fun challenges for players to tackle, including the new Covert Ops Quests that you can complete in order to get your hands on the Secret Sledge pickaxe for free.
One of these Covert Ops Quests requires you to collect compromised intel from IO Outposts. This is easy to do if you know where to look, and we’ll go over the locations that you need to visit.
Where to collect compromised intel from Fortnite IO Outposts
You’ll need to hop into Zero Build mode in order to complete this Fortnite Covert Ops Quest. There are five different IO Outposts from where you can collect compromised intel but you only need to visit two.
Here are the IO Outpost locations:
- Between Greasy Grove and Synapse Station
- West of the Joneses’
- Between Sanctuary and Coney Crossroads
- East of Sleepy Sound
- Just outside of Logjam Lumberyard
When you head to these locations, you’ll find compromised intel lying near destroyed towers. They look like small black boxes and you just need to hit the interact button in order to collect one.
Once you’ve collected compromised intel from two IO Outposts, this Covert Ops Quest will be completed and you’ll gain 30,000 XP. This will also bring you one step closer to unlocking the free Secret Sledge pickaxe.

This objective will only remain available until 9 AM ET on April 28 and then the next stage of the Covert Ops Quests will begin. So, be sure to get this done before time runs out if you want to get your hands on that pickaxe.
