How to access Modern Warfare 2 Gunsmith & Firing Range early
Modern Warfare 2’s Firing Range and Gunsmith are two crucial elements of CoD gameplay, and it seems players can actually get a sneak peek of these features early.
The Gunsmith system has become a staple of Call of Duty games in recent years with players wading through a sea of thousands of different attachments for their favorite guns to create near-endless loadouts.
Whereas the Firing Range will be a new way of testing out guns, assessing the recoil of a loadout, as well as a teaching aid to improve aim.
Both were already announced as being in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II well ahead of time, but despite only being intended for release day, players can actually access both now.
Modern Warfare 2 Gunsmith & Firing Range early access
If you’ve pre-ordered Modern Warfare II and have the ability to dive into the game’s campaign early, then you’ll be permitted to browse the game’s menus, which is how you’ll enter the Gunsmith and Firing Range prematurely.
To browse these extra pieces of content, follow these simple instructions:
- Access the game’s home screen.
- Either on PC or on console, if you connect a keyboard, press ‘F6’.
- Doing so will let you see both the Gunsmith and Firing Range options.
- Click on either to fully investigate them.
This method is confirmed for both PC and console gamers so no one who owns MW2 needs to feel left out. Some players have reported that selecting the Firing Range option led to their game crashing.
It’s unknown if Activision will patch this out and block any further attempts to access these off-limits functions, but in any event, it’s also given players a cheeky look at the camos in the game too.
