How much storage does Genshin Impact take on mobile & PC?
HoYoverseGenshin Impact wasn’t particularly taxing when it was first released, but it has continued to receive massive updates that have only added to its file size. Here’s how much storage Genshin Impact currently needs as of version 4.4.
Genshin Impact had reasonable storage and PC requirements at launch, as it was fairly sized, featuring two major regions—Mondstadt and Liyue. But it has only grown ever since and now has a continental-size map with five major regions.
It isn’t slowing any time soon either, as the recent version 4.4 update added an expansion to Liyue in Chenyu Vale. Genshin Impact’s cast of playable characters, meanwhile, has grown from 22 characters to 70-plus, and the upcoming update is adding even more.
All that is neat, of course, but it does significantly increase storage requirements. So, if you’re wondering about Genshin Impact’s storage space, here’s all you need to know.

The number can be slightly different for players depending on the audio packs you’ve downloaded, but the overall size of the game can exceed 120 GB. Epic Games states a minimum disk space requirement of 100 GB and a recommended storage of 150 GB as of February 2024.
Genshin Impact version 4.4 storage requirements on mobile (Android & iOS)

How to reduce Genshin Impact size on PC and mobile
The only way through which you can effectively reduce Genshin Impact’s size on PC and mobile is by deleting unused audio packs.
Follow these steps to delete unused voice-over packs in Genshin Impact:
- Launch Genshin Impact and open the Paimon Menu.
- Go to in-game Settings > Language > Manage Voice-Over Language
- The menu will display the current audio packs that you’ve downloaded.
- Keep one voice-over pack that you use and uninstall the rest.
With this method, you can significantly reduce the game’s overall size, as every pack takes up to 8-9 GB of space.
Other methods, like clearing the cache on mobile, do work, but the size reduction will be minimal. The developers might need to come up with better solutions, or a large chunk of the player base will be compelled to uninstall Genshin Impact sooner or later.
