Warzone’s The Haunting Halloween event is here, and one player got more than they bargained for after a new bug turned their character into a deformed third-person monstrosity.

Warzone’s Haunting event is here, bringing horror movie icon Ghostface to a nighttime version of Verdansk. There’s plenty to be scared of as The Haunting event has sought to make Warzone even more intense and scary, with Scream’s Ghostface whispering in your ear, jumpscares in chests, and your Fear Meter ever rising.

But the scares ramped up even more as a player was hit with a presumably unintentional new bug that brought body horror to Verdansk.

‘chizel3d’ was playing the new Ghosts of Verdansk LTM and parachuted into Hospital. But, before they could land, the game switched to third-person, giving a full view of the horrors before them.

They were shocked and confused to see that their Operator was almost curled up inside themself, with their arms drooping down the sides and their gear bunched up on their back like a cursed Quasimodo.

Hovering above the ground, they ran around Hospital, picking up loot as they went. But with the distorted arms hanging down by the sides, chizel3d wasn’t able to pick up or fire any weapons.

Players in the replies were equally as shocked, with one user saying it’s “creepier than anything in the event so far.” chizel3d’s tweet was in reply to streamer and Warzone pro IceManIsaac, who said, “I’m seeing this in my nightmares tonight.”

However, chizel3d did fix the horrifying bug later by climbing on a ladder. Their POV immediately switched back to regular first-person and stayed that way for the rest of the game.

It’s unclear how widespread this issue is, as Raven Software hasn’t responded on their Trello Board or Twitter account.
