It seems that Halo Infinite could be getting full Steam Workshop support for players to create mods, if a new screenshot is to be believed.

It seems like 343 Industries’ upcoming Halo Infinite may be getting full Steam Workshop support, allowing players to legally mod the game.

Mods are a big deal for many players as it allows them to customize a game to their heart’s content. Halo Infinite’s default content will probably be solid in its own right, but the addition of Steam Workshop support could be massive.

The official Steam Workshop page is described as: “a central hub of player-created content and tools to publish, organize, and download that content into your games.”

A Reddit user has discovered evidence that Halo Infinite could be given full Steam Workshop support, allowing players to mod the game however they see fit.

Whether it’s changing a character’s clothing or reskinning a weapon, mods can turn a game into something completely different.

So smolgote’s post on the GamingLeaksandRumors page asked a big question about Halo Infinite already, will it have Steam Workshop support?

The user said: “Probably a bug or something on Steam’s end, but it wouldn’t surprise me regardless, since MCC [Master Chief Collection] is getting Workshop support and 343 wants fans to go nuts with mods,” and accompanied this message with an interesting image.

Under the player’s recently viewed games and hubs, one of the options comes up as “Halo Infinite” and says “0 new workshop items this week.”

Halo Infinite is not out until December 8, so there’s every chance that this is just a simple mistake that has appeared whilst the technical flight test is going on.

But there’s every reason to suggest that this is merely the groundwork in place before the full release with one commenter saying: “Not impossible at all with Forge on its way. Not going to count on it but it’s likely with how much Microsoft has been embracing Steam.”

As usual, take this as a rumor for the time being and we’ll wait and see if Halo Infinite gets full Steam Workshop support on release or soon after.
