Frustrated Cold War players say the VTOL Scorestreak is “pathetic” and want it buffed

One of Black Ops Cold War’s most popular Scorestreaks is under the spotlight as footage emerged of the VTOL being destroyed too easily, and furious players want it buffed and fixed.

Even though Season 5 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to be unleashed, some of the game’s recurring problems keep coming back to haunt the game. It was only recently that players outed the expensive Chopper Gunner Scorestreak as being too weak, and it seems like the VTOL has the same issue.

Whilst not as costly as a Chopper Gunner or Gunship, one player showed just how inferior it is as theirs was brought down with little-to-no effort.

Titling their Reddit post as “Buff the VTOL (this is pathetic),” Black Ops Cold War player Wooden_Falcon3992 revealed how structurally weak the VTOL can be.

Their evidence started off as usual with the player calling in the earned VTOL Scorestreak – which costs a hefty 6200 points to earn.

The aerial vehicle entered the airspace and descended upon the Rush map. Within 5 seconds of it being free for the player to control, it was mercilessly brought down by a single rocket from a SAM Turret.

In the blink of an eye, just like the Chopper Gunner Scorestreak, the VTOL was sent plummeting to the ground below and barely had a chance to get any rounds away.

The two top comments for the post summed up the main thoughts regarding the VTOL with one user saying: “One-shot rocket bug? This thing STILL hasn’t been fixed yet. Wtf?,” and another person saying: “I know, it’s unacceptable. The worst part is that the SAM Turret normally takes about 13 rockets to destroy a VTOL.”

The SAM Turret is a free piece of Field Equipment, so it can be argued that a single shot shouldn’t be able to down one of the game’s strongest Scorestreaks.

Scorestreaks haven’t been changed too much during Black Ops Cold War’s lifespan. So it remains to be seen if Treyarch makes any adjustments as Cold War barrels towards a year since its release, making way for the rumored Call of Duty: Vanguard title in 2021.
