Fortnite’s Halloween-themed event “Fortnitemares” has officially begun in Season 8, with new spooky-themed game modes, weapons, skins, and even the next step in the Cubes’ plan.

Fortnite Season 8 has introduced loads of new content for the battle royale, from a brand new Battle Pass to the return of Punchcard Quests.

Epic Games have officially released Fornitemares for Halloween 2021, and thanks to the latest blog, we have all the details on the spooky-themed skins, game modes, weapons, and even the next step in the Cubes’ plan.

Players will be able to enjoy everything that the Fortnitemares 2021 event has to offer until November 1, 2021. This means the community will be able to experience all of the spooky excitement for the majority of October.

There will be a featured Fortnitemares section of the playlist menu where players can jump into various Halloween-themed maps, games, and experiences.

Fortnitemares 2021 will see the return of fan-favorite Halloween-themed skins in the Fortnite store that players will be able to add to their collections.

There will also be some classic Fortnite skins that will be getting a Fortnitemares 2021 makeover in the in-game store during the event.

Iconic creatures such as Frankenstein’s Monster and The Mummy will also be making their way into the Fortnite store during the Halloween event this month.

Players can track which of the new Fortnitemares 2021 skins are currently available by checking the Epic Games website.

The Boxy and Boxer skins are the first to be in the Item Shop for the Fortnitemares 2021 event, which can be found below:

New Fortnite Sideways Dual Fiend Hunters weapon

Players will also find that the Fortnitemares 2021 event has added a new Sideways weapon for Fortnite players to use to defeat their enemies. The Dual Fiend Hunters can now be found on the Fortnite island as ground loot or inside of chests.

These Fortnite Dual Fiend Hunters deal extra damage to Cube Monsters and have a faster fire rate than the Crossbow.

New Fortnite Sideways Scythe 

The Cube Queen has brought her wrath to Fortnite Island, and this has brought a few changes to the game. New types of Cube Monsters known as Caretakers are pulling players into the Sideways.

If you want to survive, then you make use of the new Sideways weapon known as the Sideways Scythe. Items like the Witch Brooms and the Pumpkin Rocket Launcher have also made their return.

Now, you can use the Scythe and these wicked supplies to hold your own in battle against the Cube Monsters.

Horde Rush LTM Quests & rewards

The v18.21 update will bring Horde Rush challenges for you to complete. You’ll have to battle Cube Monsters from The Sideways dimension and then win a massive boss fight.

This LTM will be available from October 19 at 9 AM ET to November 2 at 9 AM ET. You can complete Horde Rush Quests for fun rewards like the Thinking Juice Back Bling, a Cube Queen Banner, and the Cuddle Scream Leader Spray.

The Horde Rush Tournament will also have some Locker items that you can earn, so be sure to practice the mode with your squad ahead of time to prepare. We’ll be sure to update this article with more information as it becomes available.

Power leveling weekends

To help celebrate Fortnitemares 2021, Epic Games are adding power leveling weekends to the battle royale. Once these go live you will be able to unlock a Supercharged XP bonus and level up faster when you play.

Here are all the confirmed power leveling weekends:

  • October 22 at 7 PM ET to October 25 at 7 AM ET 
  • October 29 at 7 PM ET to November 1 at 7 AM ET

Shortnitemares

Shortnitemares will be various animated shorts focused on ghoulish and sinister themes in the latest set of Short Nites for the popular video game. These Shortnitemares will be showcased in custom-made theaters by Quantum Builds, with each one having its own theater.
