Winterfest is the yearly Fortnite Christmas celebration, bringing a host of festive content to Epic’s battle royale. Here’s everything we know about Winterfest 2022, including the schedule and free presents.
One of the main reasons that players continue to flood to Fortnite after all these years is its major in-game events. Developer Epic Games knows how to keep players interested, whether it’s through live events to shake things up, or seasonal celebrations that take over the entire map.
With the Christmas season finally upon us, Epic Games are helping players get into the holiday spirit with the Fortnite Winterfest 2022 event. We’ll go over how long the event will last and what new content it features.

Fortnite Winterfest 2022 schedule
Epic Games have confirmed that Fortnite’s Winterfest 2022 event is scheduled to begin on December 13, 2022, at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM GMT.
The event will come to an end on January 3 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM GMT. Until then, players can hop into Fortnite and enjoy all the new Christmas-themed content that’s available.
How to get free Fortnite Winterfest 2022 presents
During the Winterfest event, you can unwrap free presents by accessing the Cozy Lodge through the snowflake tab in the Lobby every day for 14 days. These presents contain 17 different items, including the Arctic Adeline and Sled Ready Guff Outfits.
Here are all the presents that you can unwrap in Winterfest 2022:

If you end up forgetting to visit Cozy Lodge during some of the days of the Winterfest 2022 event then you won’t have to worry about missing out on the free presents. Just return anytime before the event ends to open them up.
Players that log into Fortnite from the Epic Games Launcher during Winterfest can also get the new Guff Gringle Outfit for free from the Item Shop.
Snowball Launcher and Holiday Presents return in Fortnite Winterfest 2022
The Winterfest 2022 event has also brought back the Snowball Launcher which first appeared in 2019’s Christmas event. This powerful weapon can be used to fire exploding Snowballs at your opponents.
Sgt. Winter has also returned in this event, and you can find him throwing down Holiday Presents filled with loot while patrolling the island. Attacking him or his rig will cause him to become hostile.
Fortnite Winterfest 2022 Chill-la-la-Llama Back Bling
Fortnite Crew members can log into Fortnite during Winterfest 2022 to get the reactive Chill-la-la-Llama Back Bling. This Back Bling has similarities to the unwrappable Back Bling in the Cozy Lodge.
This cosmetic item sneezes every time when you score an elimination or open a Chest. Be sure to grab it before the Winterfest 2022 event comes to an end in January.
How to get the Fortnite Winterfest 2022 Curling Iron Emote
Fortnite players have the opportunity to receive the Curling Iron Emote during Winterfest 2022 by completing a few tasks after hopping into the game. You can do this by playing with five different friends from your friends list in any game mode during Winterfest.
You’ll be able to receive your reward on or around January 6. Players can also complete two sets of Weekly Winterfest-themed Quests from the main menu, as well as plenty of themed in-game challenges to complete and new festive skins to unlock.
The first set will run from December 13 to December 20, and the second will run from December 20 to December 27. We’ll have a separate guide for how you can complete those once they go live.
