Fortnite leak claims Sam Wilson Captain America skin is coming soon
Fortnite leakers have claimed that another Marvel crossover could be on the way, as evidence of a Sam Wilson Captain America skin has been found in the game files.
Despite being almost six years old, Fortnite has managed to stay relevant and maintain a healthy player count since it launched. This is partly down to its ability to reinvent itself with each new update, constantly bringing new features, but also its high-profile crossovers.
Chapter 4 Season 1 alone has brought The Witcher, My Hero Academia, and Dead Space skins to the game, as well as a second round of Dragon Ball characters.
One of the biggest names to collaborate with Fortnite is Marvel, and leakers have revealed that another major comic book character could be coming to the island very soon.
Fortnite Sam Wilson Captain America skin leaked
According to Fortnite dataminers like Shiina and Hypex, there is evidence in the game’s files that a Sam Wilson Captain America skin is in the works.
Ahead of the 23.40 update, HYPEX claimed that a banner in the Item Shop had been reserved for a new Captain America bundle. The Steve Rogers version of the character has already appeared in Fortnite as part of the full Marvel season in Chapter 2, hitting the store on Independence Day 2022.
This led the leakers to speculate that this new set could be the Sam Wilson iteration of Cap. Shiina also found a gameplay tag that mentioned “SoundLibrary_Glider_Elevate_Wings,” which could be a reference to the iconic wings that the character uses to fly.
In the comics, Wilson, who begins superhero life as Falcon, takes the mantle from Steve Rogers after the events of Civil War. The MCU movies have also followed this storyline, with Anthony Mackie’s Falcon picking up the shield after Chris Evans stepped away from the character during Avengers Endgame.
It remains to be seen if this Fortnite skin will use the like Antony Mackie and the suit from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, or if it will be more in line with the comic book design.
Sadly, the leakers didn’t share any details on when the Sam Wilson Captain America skin could arrive in Fortnite, but since it’s already in the game files then Chapter 4 Season 2 seems like the safest bet.
