Fortnite leaks reveal upcoming vehicle mods and mounted car guns
Reliable Fortnite leaker HYPEX has revealed that Epic Games might be working on a vehicles attachments system, alongside a mounted gun mod that they plan to add in a future Fortnite update.
With Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 set to end on March 15, 2021, there’s a lot of excitement about the next big update. This Season had crossovers with franchises like Predator and Halo, so there’s mass speculation about what we can expect in Season 6.
Now, some new leaks have emerged which suggest that Epic Games are currently working on attachments and mods for vehicles, along with a weapon attachments system that had also previously been leaked.
Fortnite leaker claims vehicle mods system in development
This leak came from notable Fortnite data-miner HYPEX, but we don’t have a ton of information about how this system will work. Despite this, the leaker was able to give us a general idea of what to expect.
HYPEX stated that the attachments will be split into tiers, and this will cause the vehicles to behave differently on dirt, grass, and the road. This probably means that the mod you have attached will affect how the car functions on different textures.
The data-miner also mentioned that players will gain access to a few traditional attachments which they can place on their vehicles. This includes “mounted guns” that HYPEX stated as an example.
So far, this sounds a lot like the weapon attachments system that was leaked a little while back. That consists of different modifications that players can equip to make their weapons more powerful, and it’s likely that you’ll be able to do the same for your vehicles.
You’ll be able to mount a gun onto your vehicle, and this can be fun if you’re playing as part of a team or trio. You and your friends can work out who stays on the wheel, while the other person dishes out some pain with the weapon.
The weapon attachments leak suggested that players can pick up mods as loot from the map, and then equip them at any time. You’ll also get to equip multiple mods at once, and some attachments will only be suited to a specific weapon.
It’s possible that the car attachments system will function similarly, with mods suiting certain vehicles. Having a gun that you can mount to your car sounds exciting, but so far we haven’t heard anything official from Epic Games that confirms this leak.
The mounted gun mod for vehicles was leaked before, and we hope that the devs will make it part of the battle royale when Fortnite Season 6 goes live. If we hear anything else about this, then we’ll be sure to update you.
