Fortnite leaks have pointed at new movement mechanics coming to the battle royale such as wall running similar to that of Titanfall.

Fortnite is known for massive updates and content, much like Chapter 4 Season 1’s graphical improvements thanks to the power of Unreal Engine 5.1.

As well as graphical improvements, the Chapter 4 update has brought a new vehicle, Shockwave Hammer, and even Geralt of Rivia in the Season 1 Battle Pass.

As if this content wasn’t enough, the devs are also planning to bring Deku from My Hero Academia and NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo to the game. But that’s not all, as leaks have revealed potential plans to bring new movement mechanics such as wall running to the game.

Reliable Fortnite leaker HYPEX revealed on December 5 that Fortnite will be getting some new movement mechanics in the future. These “upcoming movement mechanics” include “Wall Running…Slide Jumping,” and a “Double Jump.”

Although not much is known about these new movement mechanics and their release date, HYPEX believes that it could have something to do with the new Reality Augments perk system introduced in Fortnite Chapter 4.

The Fortnite Wall Running mechanic could be similar to that of Titanfall’s movement, and it currently seems the most likely mechanic to make it into the game, as HYPEX isn’t sure what Jump Slide is and another user in the comments seems to have found code regarding the Wall Running mechanic.

The user who posted the code showing Fortnite’s potentially upcoming Wall Running mechanic claims that the “wall run ability looks completed.”

If these leaks are accurate, we could see this new Wall Running ability in Fortnite Chapter 4, perhaps even in the Season 2 update. This will have fans of Titanfall and other games with advanced movement such as Black Ops 3 extremely excited, but we’ll have to wait for official confirmation to be sure.
