Fortnite fans think new emote confirms Lady Gaga crossover event coming soon
The v21.50 update brought a brand-new emote to Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3, and players believe that this could be hinting at the arrival of a Lady Gaga crossover event.
Epic Games have brought a ton of crossovers with popular franchises to Fortnite over the seasons, with characters like Goku, Spider-Man, Naruto, and Indiana Jones joining the battle royale title.
We’ve also seen real-life celebrities like Ariana Grande get added as cosmetic skins in the game. Now, there is speculation that another major celebrity will be joining the game through a crossover event.
Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 received a plethora of changes when the v21.50 update patch arrived on August 30, including the addition of a Jug Band emote. This new addition also features a musical cue in the background.
When four players perform the emote, the music sounds extremely similar to Lady Gaga’s hit song Poker Face playing in the background. Fortnite leaker HYPEX compared the two tracks and noted that the rest of the emote’s sound is similar to other parts of the song.
Last year, HYPEX leaked a list of potential crossovers that could arrive in Fortnite, and Lady Gaga was mentioned among them. A few of them ended up being true, like Naruto as well as Rick and Morty.
Another leaker ‘Shiina’ also claimed after the Ariana Grande crossover that Epic Games were looking to add another female singer in 2022. Now, it seems that Lady Gaga could be added to the battle royale this year.
It’s worth keeping in mind that this is all just speculation based on leaks, so we’ll have to wait for an official announcement from Epic Games. If this information is accurate then we could see another in-game concert as well as new cosmetic items to unlock.
