Fortnite first-person mode: Expected release date & leaks
Leaks have hinted that a first-person mode is in development for Fortnite, so here’s everything we know about it so far.

Fortnite has been rumored to receive a first-person mode for some time, making the popular battle royale playable from a whole new perspective. Here’s everything we know so far about Fortnite’s first-person mode.
Since its launch all the way back in 2017, Fortnite has managed to stay extremely popular while rival titles have fallen off. This is partly due to the many crossovers introduced over the years, as well as the constant gameplay features being added.
Epic Games have kept the battle royale title fresh with new content, and one innovation that fans are still waiting for is the heavily-rumored first-person mode. Players are wondering if this mode will arrive in Fortnite at any point.
Here’s everything we know about the first-person mode in Fortnite.
Is there a Fortnite first-person mode release date?
Unfortunately, Fortnite developer Epic Games has remained tight-lipped on first-person mode, so there is no official release date just yet. However, leaks have hinted that it could arrive sooner rather than later.
According to prominent Fortnite leakers HYPEX and ShiinaBR, the feature is reportedly set to come to the game in Chapter 4, Season 2. Of course, this is just a leak, and we’ll need to wait for official confirmation to be sure.
Fortnite first-person mode leaks
While details surrounding the first-person mode are thin at the moment, we have had a few hints that the mode is in active development. The first of these came from HYPEX back in 2022, who claimed that early work on the feature had begun.
Then, with the launch of the Fortnite 23.30 update, we got our first clear glimpse of how the first-person mode could look when it finally arrives. Clips began to emerge of players aiming down the iron sights on weapons that usually remain in third-person, such as the Scar.
While this was clearly just a glitch, as the first-person perspective only kicked in when aiming, leaker Shiina claimed that “the final product probably wonβt look much different.”
That was everything we know about first-person mode in Fortnite so far. We expect more leaks and announcements to drop, so we’ll be sure to update this page when more details are available.
