Chrome has taken over in Fortnite Season 4, and Epic Games have introduced two new guns called EvoChrome weapons. With special abilities, here’s where you can find EvoChrome weapons in Fortnite, and how you can upgrade them.

With new POIs, the Chrome Splash ability that lets players phase through walls, and Unvaulted weapons, there are plenty of new things for Fortnite fans to sink their teeth into during Season 4.

One of the headline additions in the major patch is the introduction of EvoChrome weapons, powerful guns that get stronger the more you use them.

Unlike anything we’ve seen before, EvoChrome weapons can be a little confusing, but we’ve got everything you need to find and upgrade them in Fortnite Season 4.

Fortnite EvoChrome weapon locations

EvoChrome weapons can be found in Chrome Chests across the Fortnite map. These Chrome Chests are most common in the new Chrome-covered POIs, like Herald’s Sanctum which has plenty of them to open and loot.

When opened, Chrome Chests can drop an EvoChrome weapon, which looks fairly normal except for the shiny coating on the barrel.

How to upgrade Fortnite EvoChrome weapons

Upgrading your EvoChrome weapon is easy! All you need to do is deal damage to opponents, and your gun will automatically improve.

For example, you may pick up an uncommon EvoChrome Battle Rifle, and just a few gunfights later find that it is now Mythic rarity, making it a truly powerful choice for players who often make the endgame of matches.

Fortnite EvoChrome weapons list

There are currently only two EvoChrome weapons in Fortnite Season 4. While it hasn’t been confirmed, we expect more will appear on the island as the season continues.

The current EvoChrome weapons are:

  • EvoChrome Battle Rifle
  • EvoChrome Shotgun
