Forgotten Cold War LMG has Warzone Season 5’s best win rate
Although Vanguard weapons continue to dominate Warzone Season 5, a forgotten Cold War LMG that almost nobody uses currently has the highest win rate in the game.
There’s no denying that Vanguard weapons have dominated Warzone ever since they arrived, using their 10 attachments and long-range scopes to outshine Modern Warfare and Cold War guns in almost every way.
However, there are always a few MW and Cold War guns that keep up with Vanguard’s, and while guns such as the Armaguerra and Cooper are among the most popular, it’s actually a forgotten Cold War LMG that’s consistently bringing players wins.
The weapon with Warzone’s highest win rate is actually Black Ops Cold War’s MG 82 LMG, with an incredible 7.49 according to WZ Ranked. To compare, the UGM-8 has a win rate of 5.23, and Vanguard’s PPSh-41 has 4.44.
The MG 82 was a powerful choice back in the Cold War days, with players calling for nerfs almost immediately after it arrived. While it did get nerfed, it remained a strong choice thanks to its low recoil and fast TTK, but its surprisingly high win rate proves it’s a powerful choice again in Season 5.
What makes the MG 82’s win rate so surprising is that it only has a pick rate of 0.04, making it one of the least used weapons in the entire game. Still, it has a respectable K/D and whopping win rate, so might just be worth trying out in Season 5 ahead of Warzone 2.

- Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
- Barrel: 16.4″ Task Force
- Optic: Axial Arms 3x
- Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
- Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap
This is the MG 82 loadout with both the highest K/D ratio and highest win rate, which sacrifices extra ammunition for mobility.
The Agency Suppressor and 16.4″ Task Force barrel improve the weapons range and accuracy, with the Field Agent Grip giving an extra boost to recoil control. The Axial Arms 3x is the perfect choice for any long-range Cold War weapon, and the Serpent Wrap reduces the ADS time.
This is the best loadout to use if you’re trying out the MG 82 again in Warzone Pacific Season 5.
