FIFA 23 lengthy players explained
Thanks to HyperMotion2, EA Sports were able to introduce new running mechanics in FIFA 23. The devs created the AcceleRATE system that defines a player’s running style and acceleration pattern in FIFA 23.
Each player will fall into one of three AcceleRATE types: controlled, explosive, or lengthy. Since the release of FIFA 23, lengthy players have received the most attention and interest. Lengthy players don’t have the quickest acceleration, but they can sprint faster than any other player on the pitch when it comes to greater distance.
This has led lengthy players to feel like the fastest players available in-game despite not having the pace stats to show for it. As EA Sports put it: “these players start slower but will thrive over longer distances.”
Furthermore, the criteria for being categorized as lengthy involves height and strength, which has allowed traditionally slow players to keep up in FIFA 23. With this new mechanic, players who were never considered speedsters can match some of the game’s fastest.

How to make players lengthy using chem styles in FIFA 23
As previously mentioned, players can have one of three AcceleRATE types. However, by using chemistry styles in FIFA 23, it’s possible to alter these AcceleRATE types. In other words, some players have the lengthy type by default and some can achieve lengthy through the application of chemistry styles.
Making FIFA 23 players lengthy using chemistry styles is quite complicated and requires some math. Of the four requirements used to define lengthy players, chemistry styles must be used to alter three of the four, given that height cannot be altered.
When attempting to identify if a player can adopt the lengthy style, they must first be at least 174 cm tall. Then you must use the player’s stats and chemistry styles to achieve the following requirements:
- Agility: Greater than or equal to 65
- Strength – Agility: Greater than or equal to 14
- Acceleration: Greater than or equal to 55
- Height: Greater than or equal to 174cm (5’9″)
Achieving a difference of greater than 14 between Strength and Agility is without a doubt the most troublesome requirement to meet. However, boosting strength with a chem style will usually do the trick.
Here are the Chemistry styles we recommend using in order to achieve the ideal combination of statistics. The Architect chem style seems to be the most popular choice when it comes to solving the equation.
- Sniper (+4 Strength)
- Backbone (+4 Strength)
- Anchor (+4 Strength)
- Marksman (+8 Strength)
- Hawk (+4 Strength)
- Architect (+15 Strength)
- Sentinel (+4 Strength)
