Ultimate Team staples in TOTW and FUT Champs will undergo changes during the World Cup event in FIFA 23. Here’s everything you need to know about FIFA 23’s TOTW and Champs rewards moving forward.

The World Cup is set to kick off on November 20 and to celebrate the iconic tournament, EA delivered a complete World Cup overhaul in FIFA 23. Ultimate Team players received a ton of content including World Cup Heroes, World Cup Token Swaps, the Path to Glory promo, and plenty of free rewards to earn.

With all of the new items in packs throughout the World Cup event, EA have decided to alter the weekly TOTW release in Ultimate Team. Of course, this major change also has an impact on FUT Champs rewards and sought-after red picks.

Here’s what you need to know about the changes to TOTW and FUT Champs in FIFA 23 during the World Cup.

When is FIFA 23 TOTW returning to Ultimate Team?

Regular Team of the Week releases in FIFA 23 will stop throughout the World Cup. In order to highlight the tournament with special items and Ultimate Team promos, players will say goodbye to TOTW squads for a brief period.

The final TOTW before the break in releases will arrive on November 16 before the World Cup kicks off. Following the release of TOTW 9 on November 16, these boosted cards will remain in packs until November 23, which is when the official pause kicks in.

Domestic leagues will return to action on Monday, December 26, but it remains to be seen if the TOTW will return to FIFA 23 on Wednesday, December 28, or Wednesday, January 4 once more games have been played.

Naturally, without Team of the Week items in packs, FUT Champions rewards will undergo a change as well with Min. OVR Packs and Player Picks replacing TOTW items.

While this change mostly impacts FUT Champions rewards with TOTW items in packs, this will also apply to any packs that contain guaranteed TOTW players.
