EA have announced that Road to the World Cup will be the Black Friday event in FIFA 23, bringing a host of fresh cards to Ultimate Team. Here’s everything we know about the new FIFA 23 Road to the World Cup promo.

World Cup fever has taken over FIFA 23, and FUT players are being treated to a huge amount of Qatar 2022 content. We’ve already seen the Path to Glory promo come and go, while World Cup Swaps provide fans with plenty of challenges to complete.

Next up on the promo calendar is Road to the World Cup, a brand-new event that also happens to coincide with Black Friday in FIFA 23.

Here are all the details you need to know about FIFA 23 Road to the World Cup and Black Friday in Ultimate Team.

FIFA 23 Road to the World Cup start date

EA have confirmed via an in-game loading screen that FIFA 23 Road to the World Cup will get underway on Friday, November 24, 2022.

There is no word yet on how long the promo will run, but based on how many other events are expected during World Cup season, we’d expect it to be a one-week event.

What are FIFA 23 Road to the World Cup cards?

The developers are yet to reveal exactly how the Road to the World Cup cards will work, be the name itself might hint at what to expect. Traditionally, “Road to…” cards are live items that increase in rating based on how real matches play out, such as Road to the Knockouts for European football.

With this in mind, Road to the World Cup cards are likely to receive stat boosts depending on how a nation performs in the Group Stages of Qatar 2022. For example, +1 for winning at least one match, and another +1 for reaching the Knockout Stages.

We’ll make sure to update this section with a full breakdown of how the cards work once they are live in FIFA 23.

FIFA 23 Black Friday

Black Friday is known for its exciting deals, so it’s fitting that FIFA 23 payers are being given two for the price of one this year. On top of the new Road to the World Cup items, the FUT Black Friday event is also going ahead as normal.

This means that the FUT store will be overflowing with discounts and lightning rounds of limited packs to fight over. There will also be plenty of SBCs to complete for packs and player items.

Black Friday is the ideal time to splash any leftover coins, and the new World Cup Icons only make the deals harder to resist. After making their debut as World Cup Swaps rewards, the full slate of legends will hit packs once the promo begins.

These Icons will have a new overall rating, somewhere between their usual Mid or Prime cards, to celebrate their contributions to past World Cups.

That was everything we know so far about Road to the World Cup and Black Friday in FIFA 23 Ultimate. Make sure to check back here for the latest details as they’re announced.
