The Assault Rifle meta is undergoing major changes after a May 4 update handed out nerfs to popular weapons. Now, Kris ‘FaZe Swag’ Lamberson has revealed a dominant AR loadout that could take over Warzone Season 3.

Powerful Warzone Assault Rifles like the EM2 and Cold War AK-47 received significant nerfs on May 4. Considering the AK-47 was seen as one of the best weapons in Warzone, players have had to alter their top Assault Rifle loadouts for Warzone Season 3.

While several top players have shifted to using the Vanguard Assault Rifles that were buffed in the same update, FaZe Swagg has opted for a Cold War AR that escaped the recent nerfs.

The devs explained that the reason several Cold War Assault Rifles were nerfed was to level the playing field for Vanguard weapons.

It’s true that Cold War Assault Rifles have been some of the best weapons throughout many seasons of Warzone, which leads players to believe CW ARs that weren’t recently nerfed can still dominate the battle royale.

This is precisely what FaZe Swagg was thinking as the top player sought to test Cold War ARs following the nerfs, and ended up discovering that the QBZ is now a standout Warzone weapon, “with the AK, EM2, and XM4 nerfed, this might be it.”

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 15.5″ Task Force
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Magazine: STANAG 60 Rnd Drum

For starters, the 15.5″ Task Force barrel makes the QBZ an excellent long-range weapon by increasing bullet velocity and damage range. Popular Cold War ARs had their damage range nerfed which is why Swagg believes the QBZ could take over.

The Field Agent Grip and Agency Suppressor will allow you to shoot as straight as possible. According to Swagg, the QBZ’s low recoil makes it feel incredibly easy to use both in Caldera and Rebirth Island, “I think this is for sure going to be meta, it is so good.”

The Axial Arms 3x and STANAG 60 Rnd Drum are standard attachments for long-range Warzone Assault Rifles. Despite how fresh the nerfs are, Swagg noted that he’s already seen major interest in the weapon when it comes to tournament play, “a lot of pro players were using it.”
