Healing has functioned in a pretty similar way for as long as the Call of Duty series has been around. But after the Call of Duty: Vanguard PlayStation Alpha, players are unhappy with how it is in the new game.

The release of Call of Duty: Vanguard is not too far away, and fans are eager to see all of the changes it will bring to the series. They’ve already expressed the crossplay functionality they want to see in the new game, as well as their thoughts on killstreaks.

But now that the Alpha is over, there have been calls for the way healing works in multiplayer to be given some attention, as fans have complained about its speed.

The issue in question is the speed with which health regenerates after a player takes damage. Reddit user Comeplete_Ad_1122 argued that it takes far too long to regain lost health.

They claim that the “ridiculously” long time it takes means that players are often dying shortly after winning a close gunfight because of low health. Sometimes, they said, even from the same enemy they just killed.

The user was worried that if the healing remains the same as it is currently then players will have to rely on “crutch” stims or perks like Quick Fix. They urged for the feature to be given a rethink when Vanguard releases later this year.

Many fans replied to the post agreeing that health regen feels slow in Vanguard Alpha, adding that the way the screen goes dark and obscures vision is also leading to frustrating deaths immediately after securing a kill.

User Jesse_James_ said it’s “definitely way too slow to start healing and slow to fully heal.” X_scion_x added, “Regen + blindness when shot is a death sentence.”

It remains to be seen whether or not Sledgehammer will take this community suggestion on board when Call of Duty: Vanguard drops on November 5, or if the use of stims or perks will remain the best way to boost healing.
