Drift0r discusses Warzone cheaters

Popular Call of Duty: Warzone YouTuber Drift0r claims he and other content creators are planning to “jump ship” due to an abundance of cheaters.

Drift0r is known for getting down into the nitty-gritty of Call of Duty games and has built his whole livelihood off the franchise. So it’s very serious when this well-known member of the CoD community says that they are ready to leave Warzone, CoD’s most popular game mode, behind.

While Warzone has plenty of issues of varying severity, for many, cheaters are the final straw. Since day one, almost a year ago, cheaters have run rampant around Verdansk aimbotting every player in sight. On top of that, there are all the hackers you don’t know about who are using wallhacks or recoil-mitigating hardware.

This problem only seems to be getting worse, and in a video slamming Activision for a lack of anti-cheat, Drift0r revealed that for him and many other content creators, Warzone isn’t worth playing anymore.

In a YouTube video uploaded on January 26, Drift0r explained how even though he loves Warzone, it’s not worth playing in its current state.

He said that for the past few weeks, he has been running into cheaters in “almost every single game” that he plays, equating that to two or three out of every five matches. Because of this, he is suspicious of every death and is finding the game “painfully unfun.”

“I really like Warzone, you can look at my videos, it’s my number one most favorite CoD thing to play, but I’m planning to jump ship,” said Drift0r. “I got up this morning and I made the decision: I’m going to go ahead and keep making videos, but I’ve gotten to the point to where I don’t think it’s worth playing anymore.”

Many content creators and streamers Drift0r has spoken to are also ready to “jump ship.” He explained that “the very moment a different battle royale comes around that they can go play and actually have fun in and be protected from cheaters, they’re going to do that.”

With cheaters both ruining the fun for casual players and destroying the competitive integrity of the game, Drift0r called Warzone a “sinking ship.”

Although he will still be creating Warzone content for now, he doesn’t think the game is worth playing anymore and is waiting for the next big game to come along.
