Top streamer Dr Disrespect has been highly critical of Warzone developers Raven Software and claimed Activision will need to bring in a new development team for Warzone 2 to succeed.

Warzone Pacific Season 5, the final season ahead of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2’s launch, is in full swing. Although the developers went all out by bringing classic villains and futuristic weapons, top streamer and former CoD developer Dr Disrespect isn’t impressed.

After a frustrating Solos session, Doc said he’s “getting sick and tired of Call of Duty” and offered harsh criticism of Warzone’s developers Raven Software, explaining why he thinks Warzone 2 will need a brand-new dev team.

Dr Disrespect was playing Warzone Pacific Season 5 with fellow streamer TimTheTatman on August 29 but grew more and more frustrated as the session went on.

After losing a Solos game because of the enemy he knocked using Self-Revive, he called the game a “snoozefest” and said, “I hope Raven’s not on Warzone 2. They need a new studio.”

“Fingers crossed Modern Warfare 2 is good but more so Warzone 2 is good. Beause if Raven’s building Warzone 2 you might as well chalk it right now,” he continued.

Tim jumped to Raven’s defense but Doc quickly shut him down, saying that if he was Activision, he’d be like, “Treyarch, I want you to build the next battle royale experience for Call of Duty.”

“I feel like it needs to dramatically shift in terms of its personality, its look, its fiction, whatever it is — the gameplay needs to shift,” he explained, bringing up how much he liked the transition from Blackout to Warzone. “And if [Raven] support Warzone 2 we’re just going to get more of the same sh*t man. That’s all I’m saying,” he concluded.

While Raven will be helping with development, Infinity Ward are taking the lead on both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 which are tightly integrated, so we’ll need to wait and see if Infinity Ward’s direction will reignite Doc’s passion for the franchise.

We’ll know much more about Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, Warzone 2, and perhaps even the leaked DMZ mode with the Call of Duty Next event ahead of the beta.
