Secret Diablo 4 buff surprises players who didn’t know it existed after 800 hours
Blizzard EntertainmentDiablo 4 has a few secrets you can discover, and one player has found a statue that gives you a spirit follower if you are able to solve the riddle it gives you. While Faded Plaques are not unknown in the world, players with up to 800 hours in the game didn’t know this even existed.
Faded Plaques can be found all around Sanctuary, and if you decipher them, you can get a temporary buff. They’re easy to miss, so it makes sense why some players are not aware of them. As mentioned, though, you can even get a spirit follower from the right one.
If you find a Faded Plaques, you need to interact with it and read its inscription. It’s not super clear, but you need to use the right emote according to the clue you’re given.
When you read the clue on the statue, only a few words will be legible, and you need to pay attention to the one in all caps.
The particular Faded Plaque that this player found, the one that gives you a spirit follower for a bit, has “embolden” in all caps. So, if you want the spirit, you need to use your cheers emote in the circle that appears in front of the Plaque.
Once you’ve done so, your buff – in this case, the spirit follower – will become active. It’s not anything game-changing, but it’s a nice little boon you can get for basically nothing.
Even though ‘abdo21’ was the player to share this discovery on Reddit, many players didn’t actually know about it – including one with a substantial amount of play time. “800 hours played and I never knew you could do this,” they said.
“Took me a while, too. I read the clues, but I didn’t know about the emote radial menu until I stumbled upon the demo quest in Kyovashad and the light bulb finally turned on,” said another.
