Diablo 4 player discovers item “rarer” than an Uber Unique

A Diablo 4 player came across a Rare item with a Legendary affix, making it more valuable than Uber Uniques.

The loot in the game is segregated into different rarities represented by a particular color. Yellow (Rare) items drop with two random perks and no affixes, whereas Orange (Legendary) items drop with three random perks and one affix. However, a player came across a Yellow chest piece with a Legendary affix.

FR0ZENBURG shared their find with Reddit, wondering if others had come across something similar.

One surprised player said, “Three affixes and an aspect. This a Legendary in all but a name,” while another added, “It shouldn’t be possible.”

As seen in the post, apart from the Legendary affix, the chest piece the OP received was called the “Paragon’s Ire” and had the following stats:

  • 26.0% Shadow Resistance
  • 4.2% Damage Reduction
  • 3.5% Impairment Reduction

Players pointed out that the item drops with a damage reduction perk which isn’t possible on gear because of the itemization reworks in Season 4. The only way to get damage reduction right now is by investing in the Paragon Boards.

As the OP noted, the existing affix was functional, and trying to imprint this item with a different Legendary affix at the Occultist would convert it to a proper Legendary item instead of giving it two affixes, further showing that this item is indeed glitched.

Another player mentioned, “Keep those. Who knows what they will be worth a few seasons from now.” While the rare item would likely fetch a high price, it was unfortunately tied to their account.

Although not game-breaking, this bug will probably be ironed out in the Season 5 update that is set to launch on August 6 and will bring a brand new game mode known as the Infernal Hordes.
