Treyarch finally added the pause feature to Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies in the Season 2 Reloaded update, and it’s come with a powerful side effect that lets players reload their guns instantly.

It’s fair to say that Call of Duty Zombies fans were disappointed with Vanguard’s iteration, where it ditched the round-based format and removed classic features such as Wonder Weapons and a Main Quest easter egg.

But one thing they especially couldn’t get past was that Solo modes didn’t have a pause feature. Four months later, it finally arrived with the Season 2 Reloaded update.

While players are now free to step away from the game (for up to two hours), it’s also introduced a powerful ability where players can freeze time to reload.

Reloading can be a risky business when playing Call of Duty Zombies, as one mistake when doing so can see you backed into a corner with no hope of survival. But, thanks to the new pause feature, you can freeze time to safely reload your gun.

There isn’t any complicated trick to complete this, simply start the reload, pause the game, then unpause it, and your Operator will have completed the reload instantly. As ‘SpartanO117’ shows, for some reason, your Operator will carry on reloading while the game’s paused, but all the enemies around you will be frozen in place.

This allows you to keep firing uninterrupted, and you don’t need to worry about any attachments that speed up the reload.

However, the one thing you need to keep in mind is that you can only pause the game for two hours per session, and every time you do this glitch, it will chip away at your two-hour time limit. Players are furious with the time limit, so we’ll need to wait and see if Treyarch will backtrack on the decision.
