Competitive Warzone players react to rampant hacker problem in tournaments
Following a couple of high-profile tournaments, competitive Warzone players voiced their major frustrations with rampant hackers in lobbies.
Members of the competitive Warzone community recently took to social media to voice their frustration regarding the rampant hackers they faced in two high-profile tournaments.
May 19, 2021, was an exciting day when it came to competitive Warzone. The Nadeshot Warzone Invitational and Vikkstar’s Warzone Showdown both had tournament matches take place with some of the best players in the world competing.
However, this excitement surrounding the major events was clouded by many of the competitors running into hackers during their matches, as these tournaments consisted of kill-races in public lobbies.
These cases led to competitive Warzone players taking to Twitter to voice their frustrations and call for the developers to do something about hackers, especially in the higher-skilled public lobbies where competitive players often find themselves in kill-races.
Popular YouTuber Vikkstar was one of the players who took to Twitter to ask for something to be done regarding hackers, as he stated, it has become “incredibly tiring” and that he was sure other competitors “feel the same way.”
The competitors of the Nadeshot Warzone Invitational $100,000 tournament also faced various hackers throughout Day One of the event, as a thread from Rallied, Bobby Poff, and Tommey all recounted how they were eliminated by players hacking when they were competing and having excellent games ruined.
Popular streamer and battle royale competitor Tfue also commented how he had returned to competitive Warzone for Nadeshot’s invitational.
Still, they soon posted how he had decided to retire from the game’s competitive scene not long afterward in another example of the frustrating nature that these issues cause for competitors.
With a great deal of money on the line in these competitive Warzone tournaments, there is no doubt that plenty of players and their fans are currently frustrated with the problem of running into hackers when playing in the kill-race public lobby format.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for an anti-cheat system in Warzone that would prevent these hacking issues from arising in tournaments. Still, it will surely continue to be a major topic of discussion in the community going forward.
