CoD: Vanguard players call for major change to mini-map
Following the Call of Duty: Vanguard Champion Hill Alpha, players are calling for the developers to make a significant change to how the mini-map works.
The Champion Hill Alpha for Call of Duty: Vanguard has concluded, and players have begun to call for the developers to change how the mini-map operated.
Following the official reveal and gameplay premiere for Call of Duty: Vanguard, the Champion Hill Alpha was the first time a portion of the community could test out the upcoming entry in the high-profile franchise.
This Alpha test allowed Sledgehammer Games, the developers of Vanguard, to receive a great deal of feedback from players regarding various aspects of the game.
Sledgehammer Games has already confirmed various things they will be adjusting based on player feedback from the Champion Hill Alpha. Still, players are calling for the developers to make a major change to how the Vanguard mini-map operates.
Rumors of how the CoD: Vanguard mini-map would operate appeared before the start of the Champion Hill Alpha and stated that it would function in the same way that the feature did in Modern Warfare 2019, which saw the mini-map get a major change to how it worked in previous entries in the franchise.
This change in Modern Warfare saw that players who fired weapons with no suppressors did not appear on player mini-maps as red dots, which had been a staple feature of every other Call of Duty game.
Once players were able to jump into the Champion Hill Alpha, it was soon confirmed that the CoD: Vanguard mini-map is the same as the Modern Warfare 2019 version and does not show enemy players as red dots when they fire weapons that do not have suppressors attached.
With this version of the mini-map being frowned upon in Modern Warfare, it was not surprising to see players relay similar criticism towards the Vanguard mini-map during and after the Alpha.
It remains to be seen whether or not Sledgehammer Games will change the way the Vanguard mini-map works ahead of the game’s Beta and release date.
Still, the development studio has already communicated that it is ready to make changes based upon player feedback, so there is a possibility that the Vanguard mini-map will receive a major adjustment in the future to be more in line with how many players like it.
