The Roze skin, a character that has been accused of being being ‘pay-to-win’ since its release, has finally been nerfed in Warzone Season 3.

Modern Warfare and Warzone dropped Black Ops 4’s Specialist Abilities in favor of Operators, who are designed to give players cosmetic variety while offering no competitive advantage. There are over 60 Operators to choose from in Warzone, each with several different outfits, or skins.

However, one particular skin has dominated Warzone since its introduction in MW Season 5’s Battle Pass – Roze’s Rook Skin. As the skin was completely black with no areas for light to reflect, it would be impossible to spot in the dark corners of Verdansk.

In Warzone streamer CouRage’s Season 3 wish list, the removal of Roze was near the top of his list. Raven Software replied, confirming they would make adjustments to Roze, and with Season 3, the skin has finally been nerfed.

In the Season 3 patch notes, the developers explained how Roze has been adjusted. They said, “We’ve adjusted Roze in order to improve the Operators readability/visibility where sources of light are available.”

While the skin hasn’t changed much cosmetically, it should now be much easier to spot in the dark areas of Verdansk and Rebirth Island. Hopefully, you’ll now be able to see Roze no matter where they’re hiding.

This update should offer players much more variety in their style choices for playing Warzone, as now, competitive players can choose an outfit they like, rather than the one that will give them the biggest advantage.

How effective this update to the Roze skin remains to be seen. Verdansk has now been destroyed, and the battle royale action is taking place in Rebirth Island in the wake of the destruction. Part 2 of the nuke event will take Verdansk back to the 1980s, so we’ll see how effective this nerf is while playing the new map.

Players were concerned that the new character Wraith would act similarly to Roze, but we’ll need to wait and see how the Season 3 Operator will shake up the game.
