Leak reveals new information on 2020 Call of Duty esports season

A new leaked deck acquired by our sister site Dexerto has provided some new information regarding the 2020 Call of Duty esports season.

As announced, the Call of Duty esports league will transition to a franchise based city league in 2020, but Activision has not announced full details on the league.

This leak provides some additional reporting on what to expect for the 2020 season. The leaked deck revealed that the company wants to run the league from January to July in 2020.

Teams will be required to sign a General Manager for the team, and have 7-10 players as part of the team with a minimum $50,000 salary.

Activision also expects that team slots for the league could be as expensive as $45 million for expansion teams in 10 years from now. Activision hopes to have 28 city teams for the league going into the future.

The deck also claims that media rights for the league will be at $20 million. In another surprise too, the deck stated that the Overwatch League in its first year was expected to generate $25 million in revenue, but instead did $82 million in revenue.
