CoD 2023 reportedly titled Modern Warfare 3
ActivisionReports from Insider Gaming have revealed that CoD 2023 is set to be called Modern Warfare 3. Along with the suggested title, the report sheds light on a new Warzone map and Zombies mode in development.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded arrived on May 10, bringing the highly anticipated Warzone 2 Ranked Play beta with it. Despite all of the new content that players have started to discover, CoD fans are always looking forward to the next major release.
Prior to the Season 3 Reloaded update, a leak from Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson announced that the major reveal for CoD 2023 is set to occur at the beginning of August.
The news surrounding the next title in the Call of Duty franchise keeps on coming as a new report surfaced on May 11. The report from Insider Gaming revealed that CoD 2023 is reportedly set to be titled Modern Warfare 3.
This information lines up with what CharlieIntel has heard about the 2023 Call of Duty game.
Leak suggests Modern Warfare 3 to bring new Warzone map
The expected Modern Warfare 3 title was not the only vital piece of information provided by the report. Insider Gaming also revealed that Modern Warfare 3 will introduce its very own Warzone map during Season 1.
At the moment the tentative date for Season 1 is penciled in for December 5, 2023. If rumors turn out to be true, Season 1 of Modern Warfare 3 and its new Warzone map would arrive almost a month after its expected launch on November 10, 2023.
According to Insider Gaming, the Warzone map is set to feature the Las Almas territory that players explored in the MW2 campaign: “Las Almas, the map found within the Modern Warfare 2 campaign will be Modern Warfare 3’s fully-fledged Battle Royale map.”
Furthermore, the report also revealed that Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is expected to be Outbreak 2.0: “It’s understood that Activision is currently weighing the possibilities on if the mode should be a part of the premium title or not, or if it makes more sense for the mode to be a free-to-play experience.”
Keep in mind that MW3 is rumored to be developed by Sledgehammer Games. Nonetheless, CoD fans will remember the Outbreak Zombies experience introduced in Black Ops Cold War.
