In Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch removed the damage flinch, which would cause CoD players to lose their aim after getting hit, and some fans feel that this has made the snipers “overpowered.”

The Call of Duty developers brought some major changes when Black Ops Cold War was first released. They wanted to shake the meta up, so they brought various gameplay changes, including the redesign of damage flinch.

While this has its benefits, some players feel that this has caused snipers to become overpowered, especially with aim assist. Now, they want the devs to add flinch at some point after Season 3.

Snipers in Black Ops Cold War

Reddit user helastblunt posted a clip showcasing this in the Black Ops Cold War subreddit. In the title, they made it clear that they want sniper flinch in the game because “0 flinch isn’t acceptable.”

In previous CoD titles, you’d suffer flinch after taking damage. This means that your crosshair would move up a little bit after you got hit by a bullet. Treyarch made sure that Cold War wouldn’t have this effect due to some controversy.

Many players felt that the game would be much more enjoyable without disrupting their aim after taking damage. This is why in Black Ops Cold War, flinch doesn’t affect the aim position of your weapon.

Some players feel that the sniper rifles in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War take too long to aim down sights, so they would prefer a buff there. “I would take more flinch but as long as they increase the speed of ADS-ing,” wrote one player.

However, there are attachments that snipers can use to increase their ADS speed. Many of the comments agreed that snipers need more flinch, and even pro players feel that this weapon class could use improvements.

Since some developers have openly admitted they like quick-scoping, we will probably not see them add flinch to the snipers in Black Ops Cold War anytime soon.
