Black Ops Cold War players frustrated with Warzone-exclusive Operator challenges

Some of Black Ops Cold War’s Operators have challenges that require you to play Warzone to unlock camos and this is frustrating its fanbase.

The crossover between BOCW and Warzone added a whole wealth of new content for Warzone players including a lot of new guns to play with. This greatly bolstered the Battle Royale experience and changed the dynamics of the game’s meta.

On the other side of things, it seems that both games are not being considered as separate games. Operators in Black Ops Cold War have specific challenges that require you to play Warzone in order to complete. Given that some people don’t like Warzone, they feel like they’re being shortchanged.

Both games are currently active alongside one another. This is clearly evident in the respective game’s home screens as you can seamlessly switch between them.

This is supposed to promote unity and allow greater accessibility between Activision Blizzard‘s Call of Duty titles. However, fans are growing tired of the notion that they are very much linked with each other instead of being treated as individual experiences.

The official Black Ops Cold War subreddit has a popular thread showcasing the dismay of many of the game’s players. Reddit user Snatisfaction posted their dissatisfaction for all to see. People with similar views agreed in droves.

“Ah, getting my full £50 worth that I spent on purchasing the game to receive content that’s actually telling me to play a different game. Nice mentality.”

The reoccurring complaint is that lots of people have paid a lot of money to play Black Ops Cold War. But to gain access to the content they have rightly paid for, they’re being forced to play another game – a free one at that – to get their content.

Some people will argue that these challenges are entirely optional. But others will argue will that this is irrelevant and shouldn’t be a thing in the first place.

It’ll be in the hands of the devs as to whether or not they decide to change this and have separate challenges for each game. But if the negativity continues to rise and spread, then they may be forced to take action.
