Bizarre Warzone bug stops players changing their Operator now fixed

UPDATE – Feb 6 at 1AM ET: Raven Software has rolled out a new game settings update for Call of Duty: Warzone that has fixed the issue with Operators menu not being accessible.

Original Story:

The latest update for Warzone has broken the Operators tab, leaving players unable to choose an Operator from the list of 54 available.

At the beginning of Warzone x Black Ops Cold War Season 1, all Operators across Black Ops and Modern Warfare were added to Warzone. The game now offers over 50 Operators to choose from, but now some players have had that choice taken away from them.

A Warzone update released on February 5 removed the ability to ‘stim glitch‘ for the sixth time, as well as allowing missions for Season 1 Operator Stitch to track.

However, immediately following this update, a glitch is preventing players from accessing the Operators tab in the Warzone menus.

Across both Modern Warfare and Warzone, selecting the Operators tab will cause the game to freeze and you’ll be returned to the Play menu. This means you’ll be stuck with the Operator you had selected last.

This glitch appears to be affecting a significant number of players but not all. After the update, a poll on Reddit asked players if they are experiencing the problem and what platform they are on. There’s roughly a 50/50 split between players having experienced the glitch, with each platform reporting similar results.

This will be especially frustrating for players who have been waiting to complete the now-fixed Stitch Operator challenges that weren’t tracking properly. If they weren’t using Stitch right before the update hit, they’ll have an even longer wait before unlocking new styles for the Operator.

There doesn’t appear to be a workaround for the issue, so it looks like you’ll be stuck with your last-picked Operator for the foreseeable.

This issue has cropped up in previous updates and was resolved quickly, so expect Raven Software, Warzone’s dev team, to sort out this glitch soon.

For now, let’s hope you’re happy with the last Operator you used.
