Players defending in FIFA 23

Choosing who to manage can be one of the toughest decisions a FIFA 23 Career Mode player can face. If you’re struggling, we’ve picked 10 of the best and most fun saves you can do in FIFA 23.

While many FIFA 23 players will head straight to Ultimate Team, Career Mode has a dedicated fanbase who love nothing more than managing their squad to glory.

For some, your Career Mode team is obvious — take over the club you support in real life and live your wildest dreams. For others though, that may be too easy, or their beloved club isn’t included in the game‘s roster.

That can leave you struggling to pick who to coach. If you’re one of these people, then we’ve put together 10 FIFA 23 Career Mode saves that are both challenging and rewarding.

Manchester United

Manchester United are the Premier League’s most successful side, but haven’t won the title since 2013. With new manager Erik ten Hag, and big signings like Antony and Casemiro, United are a team that requires some building but has all the tools to compete near the top already.

Will you hold on to legendary Cristiano Ronaldo or force him out the door? Is youth the future, or are you heading to the transfer market? It’s time to return the Red Devils to the top of the division.

Malaga CF

A decade ago, Malaga were Champions League quarter-finalist and regulars in La Liga’s top four. Last season, they avoided relegation to Spain’s second tier by just two points, and are in desperate need of a rebuild.

Go in, stabilize the club, and try and challenge the big boys at the sharp end of European football once again.

Union Berlin

Defying all the odds, Union Berlin are currently top of the Bundesliga, two points clear of Borussia Dortmund and five ahead of Bayern Munich.

Whether they can hold on and pull off their own Leicester City moment remains to be seen, but you can take charge over the capital city side and see if you can pull off a miracle of your own.

Portsmouth

Playing in real stadiums always adds a level of realism to any FIFA Career Mode, and Portsmouth are the lowest ranked team in the game with a real stadium.

You can take charge at Fratton Park, and try to guide Pompey from League 1 all the way back to the Premier League, from which they were relegated in 2010.

A.C. Monza

Monza may be best known for its Formula 1 circuit, but the city’s football team made headlines of their own last year. Celebrating their 100th anniversary, A.C. Monza secured promotion to Serie A for the first time.

Unfortunately, Monza are favorites to drop straight back down to Serie B. Your job is to stop this from happening and send Monza steaming up the table as fast as the F1 cars at the racetrack.

Charlotte FC

The Queen City side are the newest MLS expansion team, but Charlotte FC need some serious work if they’re going to be MLS Cup champions.

With Premier League winner Christian Fuchs among your ranks, take this young side all the way to championship glory.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United are the richest club in world football, but that doesn’t mean this will be an easy task. After years of mismanagement, Newcastle United’s squad needs deadwood cleared out, and a team built around its existing stars.

With a huge budget and a massive stadium, Newcastle United belong among Europe’s elite. Now, it’s your job to get them there.

Wrexham AFC

Owned by Hollywood superstars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McIlhenny, Wrexham AFC have shot to global notoriety thanks to the pair’s enthralling docu-series Welcome to Wrexham.

With big-name owners, now they need a big-time manager, and you’re just the person for the job. Guide Wrexham from League 2 all the way to the dizzying heights of the top flight, and you can make sure it’s always sunny for the Welsh town’s fans.

Paris FC

France’s capital city is dominated by PSG, but it’s time for things to change. Paris has more than one football club, and your aim is to overtake your local rivals with Paris FC.

The club find themselves in Ligue 2, just missing out on promotion last year, so have a decent squad for the level. Your first task is promotion, and after that, total domination.

AFC Richmond

We couldn’t make this list without AFC Richmond. If “football is life” is something you “believe” in, then take charge of Dani Rojas and the rest of the club’s wacky players and guide them to glory.

Even better, with FIFA 23 you can actually control existing managers, so you can literally be Ted Lasso on the sidelines.
