The Vanguard Bren is a heavy LMG that packs a punch. For those who want to make the most out of the weapon, here are the best attachments and Perks to use with it.

The Bren is a classic weapon for the Call of Duty franchise, and it returns in Vanguard. Like the previous iterations of the weapon, the Bren is a heavy LMG.

The Vanguard Bren is great for those who are looking to hold positions of power and dominate lines of sight on the maps. The weapon is very heavy so you don’t want to be caught running around.

With a lot of ammo and power, the Bren is a weapon you hunker down with and spray. Here’s the best loadout for it.

Best Bren loadout attachments

  • Muzzle: G28 Compensator
  • Barrel: Queen’s 775m Scepter
  • Optic: MK 3 Sunfilter
  • Stock: Oak & Shield Padded
  • Underbarrel: SMLE Pistol Grip
  • Magazine: .303 British 100 Round Drums
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
  • Kit: Fully Loaded

For recoil control, we’ve gone for both the G28 Compensator and the Queen’s 775m Scepter. Both of these attachments will help you stay on target by reducing the Bren’s heavy kicking recoil.

Next, we have the MK 3 Sunfilter as the iron sights are pretty rough with the Bren. We also have the Oak & Shield Padded stock for some aiming stability and flinch resistance.

The SMLE Pistol Grip gives the weapon more mobility, increasing the sprint to fire speed and hip-fire accuracy. This is an essential attachment in this Vanguard Bren loadout, as without the added speed the weapon can feel very sluggish.

You may find yourself sustaining fire with the Bren for a while when trying to take down multiple enemies or even hit a wall bang. Both the .303 British 100 Round Drums and Polymer Grip help with this, giving you more ammo to spray and recoil control during sustained fire.

Sleight of Hand will also help you reload this monster magazine, while Fully Loaded means you won’t be looking for more ammo or to pick up a different weapon while on a streak. Lastly, we chose the Lengthened Ammo Type as this gives the weapon added bullet velocity so you hit your shots before the enemy.

Best Perks to use with the Bren in Vanguard

Forward Intel Perk in CoD Vanguard
  • Perk 1: Fortified
  • Perk 2: Forward Intel
  • Perk 3: Lightweight

For Perk 1, we chose Fortified. With the Bren, you may be holding down positions of power and lines of sight that enemies will slowly start realizing throughout the match. This will counter any explosives thrown at your position.

Next, Forward Intel will give you a heads up on where the enemy is spawning, which is great for positioning. This will allow you to be at the right place at the right time, an important aspect of any CoD game.

Lastly, we have Lightweight. This Perk increases your overall movement speed with the loadout, which is essential considering how heavy the Bren is.

How to unlock the Bren in Vanguard

To unlock the Bren, players must reach Level 53 in the Vanguard Multiplayer. This is just two levels off the max, so it may take some time to get there.

If you’re desperate to unlock the Bren, you’ll have to do some serious grinding. Take a look at our guide on how to rank up fast, or just try your luck on Shipment 24/7.

Best alternatives to the Bren in Vanguard

The Bren is a slow-firing, heavy LMG, so the best alternative for it is either the MG42 or the DP27.

Both of those LMGs are fairly quick to unlock and offer a similar playstyle. If you’re looking for something different, check out our best Automaton loadout, which is a fast-firing Assault Rifle.
