Battlefield 2042 developers DICE are being heavily criticized by players following their announcement that Season 1 of the game has been delayed until summer.

Battlefield 2042’s glaring performance issues caused it to lose most of its player base within just a few weeks, leading the developers to delay the Season 1 launch in order to fix these problems.

Players that were looking forward to the performance improvements and new content in the Season 1 update were left frustrated, with many of them slamming the developers for this decision.

Reddit user ‘Quantum_Force’ shared DICE’s announcement about the game’s delay in the Battlefield 2042 subreddit, and this news was labeled as the “killing blow” by one of the commenters.

Most users were upset that they’d have to wait longer for the game’s issues to be fixed, as one player joked: “At this point they should have just waited until 2042 actually rolls around, maybe then they’ll have figured it out.”

Another commenter was less amused and expressed their frustration: “Early summer? Now I officially feel robbed. The game is dead as hell already, it’s going to be a graveyard by the time the first season finally drops.”

While many of the commenters were upset, a few were more optimistic. One user tried to calm things down: “I think we should all take a step back, take a deep breath and realize it’s just how it works out sometimes.”

DICE will be granting an exclusive bundle in the next update to those that paid extra for the Season 1 Pass. These players will receive a Specialist skin, weapon and vehicle skins, a melee weapon, and Player Card.

It’s reassuring to know that the developers are aware of Battlefield 2042’s issues and taking steps to fix them. Hopefully, many of the game’s most glaring problems will be resolved by the time Season 1 arrives.
