A lot of Apex Legends players are asking questions about Mad Maggie, especially as she has now been revealed as the Season 12 Legend.

Apex Legends has a lot of lore and character development that even spans from the Titanfall series. Despite not becoming a playable Legend until Season 12, Mad Maggie has been involved in the game’s lore ever since Fuse was introduced.

With the latest Stories from the Outlands video providing players with information regarding why she will be involved in the Apex Games, what will her abilities be and what’s her backstory?

Who is Apex Legends’ Mad Maggie?

Mad Maggie was introduced to players as Fuse’s close friend on Salvo, the home planet of both characters. They grew up together and developed a close bond while fighting for Salvo’s freedom. Fuse broke that friendship when he left Salvo and joined the Apex Games.

Maggie felt betrayed because the Apex Games are run by the same organization that took Salvo, the Syndicate. Fuse’s departure caused a fight between the two that ultimately ended in Fuse losing his arm.

We saw Maggie ambush and ruin Fuse’s debut appearance at the Apex Games by destroying the Kings Canyon map for Season 8’s launch. Maggie was also responsible for the War Games event in the same season, where she took over the games, changing the rules with LTMs and becoming the announcer.

Since then, she has been causing havoc to the Syndicate, who eventually captured and forced her to participate in the games to pay for her crimes.

With the new season being announced, we finally have official information regarding Mad Maggie’s abilities. Thanks to the EA blog on Season 12, here is Maggie’s launch kit:

Passive – Warlord’s Ire

  • Temporarily highlight enemies you’ve damaged, and move faster with a shotgun.

Maggie’s passive is very interesting, as not only does it give her kit some aspects of a recon Legend, but it also gives her mobility when she uses a Shotgun.

Players who like to get up close and personal will definitely enjoy this Passive, as it will make Maggie very strong with Shotguns and also allow her to track enemies that she does damage to.

Tactical – Riot Drill

  • Fire a drill that burns enemies through obstacles.

Next, we have Maggie’s Tactical ability, which is called the Riot Drill. From the description, it’s clear that this ability will be used to do poke damage and also stop players from hiding behind cover.

Maggie’s tactical will be perfect for getting damage off on players behind obstacles, which will work extremely well with her passive, as after damaging them with the tactical, they will be highlighted, essentially giving her wallhacks.

Ultimate – Wrecking Ball

  • Throw a ball that releases speed-boosting pads and detonates near enemies.

Lastly, Mad Maggie’s Ultimate is called Wrecking Ball and features another interesting mobility mechanic.

When thrown, the Ultimate will release “speed boosting pads” that will likely give other players a speed boost too, not just Maggie. When it gets close to enemies, it will detonate and do some damage to your opponents.

That’s all for Mad Maggie’s abilities and lore in Apex Legends. For more on Season 12, make sure you check out every confirmed change coming in the update.
