Apex Legends Season 16 will bring a brand-new graduation-style Orientation system to help new players get into the game.

With the Apex Legends Global Series now out of the way, players can focus on the new Season 16 update, which is set to arrive just after the Date Night LTM‘s release. Apex Legends Season 16 is set to bring a lot of updates to the game, despite not including a brand-new Legend.

As well as a new weapon, Apex Legends Season 16 will also remove Arenas and replace it with two new modes, TDM and Mixtape. Arenas was a great way for beginners to learn the game in an enclosed environment.

However, the devs seem to be prepared for its removal, as they will be introducing a new Orientation system in Apex Legends Season 16. Those playing the battle royale for the first time will have the chance to get to grips with the game.

Apex Legends Orientation system explained

According to the devs, the brand-new Apex Legends Orientation system being introduced in Season 16 will see first-time players take on an “easy introduction” to the game where they can “gather their bearings and learn the core mechanics of Apex Legends.”

In the Orientation matches, first-time Apex Legends players will play in matches with AI bots, and will go through a full loop of the BR on Kings Canyon. There’s also the option to do this with friends, so you won’t have to complete the task on your own.

New players can graduate from these matches and join the online population by simply coming first, placing top five, or completing enough of the basic challenges.

There will be 10 basic challenges to complete, which take players through game mechanics such as shield swapping to earn an “Apex 101 Badge.”

This new system will effectively allow first-time players to get to know the game before diving into matches with other players online.
