Apex Legends players blast devs for “insane greed” as reactive event skin fails to impress

Apex Legends players are not happy with the Celestrial Sunrise Collection Event, disappointed with the reactive Peacekeeper skin.

The Apex Legends devs have increased their efforts in communicating with the player base, offering a detailed breakdown of the skill-based matchmaking system and explaining the Horizon shadow nerfs.

That said, the community continues to be dissatisfied with the game’s content. Despite the dev’s announcing yet another Collection Event with a new LTM and more, players are slamming their intent as greedy.

The Celestial Sunrise Collection Event is set to drop just after the end of the Spellbound event, bringing a Hardcore LTM and another set of cosmetics. Usually, these events bring either a new Heirloom or Mythic skin, but with this event, the devs have decided to introduce a reactive weapon skin for the Peacekeeper.

This has caused some major backlash, with the community on Reddit expressing disappointment, as Reddit user fairlyhurtfoyer states that the skin is just an expensive recolor. The skin is a recolor of the Season 3 Peacekeeper battle pass skin, Frostbite.

Players pointed out that a battle pass skin compared to the $160 price of a 24 item Collection Event reward is a huge difference.

The argument is that this reactive “Jadeite Retribution” Peacekeeper skin is “a far cry” from the Heirlooms and Mythic skins, which are unique items, not just recolors.

Others also seem to agree, and with rumors suggesting that there will be an Heirloom recolor that will be sold for an “event in March,” one user describes the actions of the devs as “insane greed.”

They explain their opinion further, as they said that the devs “know the game is nearing its end…and are milking players as hard as they can.”

We’ll have to wait and see just how accurate this is, but if true, the community doesn’t seem too impressed.
